PRP Facial
What is PRP?
“Platelet Rich Plasma”, also known as PRP, is the name given to plasma enriched by platelets, one of the blood cells. Basically, blood is divided into two parts; The liquid part is called plasma, and the cells part consists of three types of cell groups called red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes), and blood platelets (thrombocytes, platelets). PRP is the process of obtaining plasma, the liquid part of blood, by applying various processes to ensure that platelets are concentrated in it.
The function of platelets is to ensure blood clotting. Platelets, which are activated as a result of blood coming out of the veins, start the very complex clotting process on the one hand, and on the other hand, they secrete growth factors into the environment that will accelerate wound healing. The positive effects of these active substances secreted by platelets have been used in medicine for a long time.
It has been observed that PRP, which is used in the treatment of non-healing chronic wounds, joint and muscle damage, and dental treatments, has been used in cosmetic areas for skin rejuvenation in recent years and has achieved very good results.
How is PRP obtained?
PRP application is performed with the person’s own blood. Approximately 8-10 ml of blood is taken through special filters and centrifuged. The platelets are concentrated several times in plasma, the liquid part of the blood, and are ready for application. Thanks to the kits developed for these procedures, PRP has become a very safe application. In addition to using the person’s own blood, if utmost attention is paid to sterility, no side effects are encountered.
How is it applied?
PRP application, which is obtained in approximately 4-5 ml after the necessary procedures, can be done in several ways. The most common method of application is injecting it into the targeted area with thin needles, as in mesotherapy application. It can also be done by giving high volume, as in filling applications. Another application method is to apply it with a PRP impregnated mask. Obtaining PRP from blood takes approximately 30 minutes, and the application process takes approximately 30 minutes.
